three experiences i liked the best were..
1.You must have possessed something to miss its absence
2.Outside people are nice to you because they are supposed to be...but here that's the way they are :)
And the best ofcourse was
3.Paintings of many Hindu deities adorn the halls, to suggest hope that faith promises, and places like these fulfill.

I think this is a good idea. However, I have a few thoughts to share. In India, it is important that youth who have attained a social status need to learn about the grassroot lives. also, we have youth from the grassroots who need windows of opportunity to learn the 'developed' side. I feel this process should at both these streams of youth for participation in "grassroutes". The other is, while it is necessary to share learnings and experiences, care should be taken about the following: reduction of the entire process to reporting, wrong reporting and delinking from the learning process of that life after coming back.

I seriously feel that the Grassroutes team wants to show that India is a country which has suffering people and nothing else. I am not sure about the stats mentioned. Also, I feel you guys are very much pesimistic about India's growth.

An indian school for tribals, being taught by german youth, whose method of teaching was better than almost all my kindergarten teachers...was quite a sight :)

i think this is a great idea -- it makes you accountable for how you spend your time and for delivering results without creating an environment that stifles creativity or resembles that of an employee. one of the greatest things about being an entrepreneur is also one of its greatest challenges -- you don't have anyone hrsaccount breathing down your neck or to answer to other than yourself. You need to find a way to truly take advantage of that freedom and flexibility instead of getting lost in it and it sounds like you're doing just that.

seems to be interesting .. i would like to see something radical from you guys..more than videos and documentation on trivial stuffs ... can u bring in a radical , conspicuous change in to people's life .. there seems to be a huge potential in the idea .. would love to see it come true ...

good idea to mix up fun trips and contribution to society ..

can we meet up sometime if u guys are around bangalore .. i might not be able to join as one of the fellows for a road trip but would love to discuss on these lines..

hehe.. interesting experience.. don't worry I missed a train too at Bangalore Cantt station once; and my friends who had come there to bid me goodbye were shocked to see me coming into station when I was supposed to have left on the train! :D

but what happened to your friends whose tickets u had? did they have to pay extra?

did anyone try it? hows it different from the processed tobacco in a cigarette?
